Alec Benjamin live in Vienna: A night of intimate storytelling and connection

On March 28th, Alec Benjamin brought his 12 Notes Tour to Vienna’s Raiffeisen Halle im Gasometer, delivering a performance that blurred the line between a concert and a heartfelt conversation.

From the moment he stepped on stage, it was clear: this wasn’t just another show on the tour itinerary, this was an evening of real connection.

Local artist NESS opened the night with warm, reflective melodies that gently pulled the crowd into the right headspace for what was to come. When Alec Benjamin appeared, the room lit up - not just with stage lights, but with genuine excitement and affection. The Gasometer, with its cosy yet grand architecture, felt more like a living room than a concert hall.

The setlist was a thoughtful mix of older favourites like Let Me Down Slowly, Water Fountain, and If We Have Each Other, along with newer material from his latest album, 12 Notes (Deluxe) [16 Notes]. Tracks like I Sent My Therapist to Therapy not only showed his growth as a songwriter but also had the crowd reflecting and swaying in synchronicity, and every lyric felt as if it were being shared directly with every member of the audience

What truly made the evening special was how much Alec interacted with the crowd. He didn’t just perform - he talked, he joked, he told stories behind the songs. It didn’t feel like he was doing it because he had to; it felt like he genuinely wanted to be there with us. You could see the joy on his face, and the feeling was mutual. Soon enough, the show closed with thunderous applause and a sea of fans who left with hearts a little fuller than when they walked in. Alec Benjamin reminded Vienna not only of his musical talent, but of the kind of artist who makes you feel seen, heard and understood.
